The Bee Story

BEE STORY is the second floral adventure for Will Bees Bespoke and Emma Mawston, the first being Bumblebee Garden, a design drawn and painted from flowers in situ in Devon and Cornwall loved by the buff-tailed bumblebee.

Bee Story is very special as it is a collaboration with The Bumblebee Conservation Trust and 24 inspirational gardens of all shapes and sizes and their guardians. The narrative started off and was inspired by the island of Tresco in the far South West , finishing up in the Scottish Highlands. 24 gardens were chosen to represent, celebrate and promote planting to help the survival of the 24 species of British Bumblebee currently buzzing around the United Kingdom. Specific flowers were chosen by each inspirational grower that they felt both represented their garden and were loved by bumblebees.

From concept to completion the design took 7 months and was created with over 50 hand drawn, hand cut and hand painted flowers to create a paper cut garden before each flower was scanned in individually for the final digital repeat, in a repeat size and scale perfect for bespoke fashion and interior accessories. Will Bees Bespoke aims to establish itself as a print house with stunning, hand crafted original designs that help bring awareness and support environmental and ecological plights with a special connection to bees.
