We are really chuffed to be able to present a cheque for £872 to the Salcombe RNLI Lifeboat Station.
The funds were raised from the sale of the commemorative ‘personalised’ washbags marking the ‘Salcombe 150th RNLI’ celebrations during 2019 and into 2020.
‘As a local business we are always keen to support Salcombe Lifeboat Station and we recognise the huge 24/7 commitment they offer all year round. It has been a great privilege to be able to work with the RNLI using our craftsmanship to create a personalised washbag that people will be able to treasure as part of the legacy of the RNLI in Salcombe’ say Will Bees.
James Marshall Co-Owner of Will Bees Bespoke and one of 34 volunteers at Salcombe RNLI said ‘I feel extremely privileged to be part of an organisation with such a long and rich history. The lifeboat has always been an integral part of life here in Salcombe, with many in the crew following in the footsteps of relatives who have gone before them to continue the tradition of saving lives at sea’. The proceeds raised through sales of the wash bags will go towards ensuring our volunteer crew have the training and equipment they need to go to sea safely.
Lifeboat Operations Manager Andrew Arthur said, ‘We are always grateful when local business supports us, but it is even more humbling when everyone is working their way through a Pandemic such as COVID-19’.
